Embodied is a place to move, breathe, and connect.

In a distracted and disconnected world, Embodied creates space to slow down, arrive fully, and build real connection. Through intentional classes, caring instructors, and locally curated events, we are building something new on and off the mat.

Whether it's your first class or your 100th, you are welcome here.

Embodied: ɛmˈbɒd id

To be embodied is to:

  • Be present, not distracted

  • Experience life through the body, not just think about it

  • Integrate mind, body, and feeling as one lived experience

Embodied San Diego is a boutique yoga and sculpt studio in San Diego for all bodies, intentionally designed for presence, transformation, and genuine connection. We offer mindful movement experiences including yoga, sculpt, flow, breathwork, and events that help you leave the noise of the world behind and return to yourself.

Our signature arched mirrors and sculpt weights symbolize crossing a threshold — an invitation to release what no longer serves you and step into something new.

Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned yogi, visiting San Diego or a local looking for your studio home, Embodied San Diego is designed for community and expression.

What a Class Feels Like

Movement with Friends:

Individualized attention, foundational breath work, clear cueing, supportive and challenging postures, and a sick playlist.

Think Cheers meets your favorite yoga studio.

Meet the Founder

It was all dream.

Staying true to my Brooklyn, DC, and Caribbean roots, is what shapes how we show up at Embodied SD: with warmth, hospitality, and the belief that everyone who steps through the door should feel at home.

Embodied SD began as a dream in my heart to create a space where all bodies can move, breathe, and connect. I traded the corporate world for the sunshine of San Diego.

Presence, transformation, and connection are what make Embodied SD different. We use arch mirrors and arched weights to symbolize the threshold. Leave something behind and embrace something new. The day. The noise. The roles you carry. What no longer serves you.

Embodied is a space to return to yourself. To move with intention, breathe with awareness, and reconnect with what’s already within you. Some days that looks like ease. Other days, it looks like finding your edge. Both are honored here.

Tia

Founder, teaches all yoga formats

Hi I’m Tia. I’m a Brooklyn native and inspired by the beauty and strength in all of us. I traded the corporate world to let my body catch up to my soul. My classes blend the hip hop of NYC and sunshine of San Diego for a flow that empowers students to reach both edge and ease. I love teaching beginners and enthusiasts because we all have something to learn from each other. My goal is to strengthen mind, body and spirit. And bring that New York neighborhood feel to our yoga community, where everyone is welcome. Off the mat, you can catch me reading, volunteering, or walking my super hero dog, Bruce Wayne.

Jess

teaches mat pilates

Jess is a movement enthusiast currently completing her 500-hour Pilates Teacher Training and eager to grow within the Pilates community as both a lifelong student and instructor. She’s passionate about Pilates for its ability to demand your full mind and body presence, and the way it supports other types of movement and overall health. When she is not teaching or taking classes, find her taking photos on her beloved Canon AE-1 or reading a good book.

Sally

teaches Restorative & Embodied flow

Known on the mat as NamaSally, she is a first-generation Egyptian from Los Angeles who found yoga later in life. After years of not seeing herself reflected in wellness spaces, she discovered a teacher who embraced authenticity and mental health, an experience that reshaped her relationship with the practice and inspired her path as a teacher. Grounded in Satya (truthfulness and non-conformity), she builds affirming, community-centered classes with playlists rooted in Black and Brown artists. Rather than offering modifications, Sally offers options, believing we can all stretch the same muscle and look very different doing it. Off the mat, her background in education and HR informs her thoughtful, people-centered approach.

Simone

teaches Embodied flow & kids flow

Originally from Sacramento, California, Simone is a yoga instructor at Embodied San Diego with over eight years of personal practice and a recently completed 200-hour yoga teacher training. She blends mindfulness, anatomy, and creative play to help students, especially kids, move with confidence and joy. Drawing from a background in youth dance, behavior support, and community wellness, Simone builds inclusive, engaging classes where every student feels safe, strong, and celebrated. Her approach centers on creating intentional spaces to heal in community through movement and mindfulness. Off the mat, she shares her practice and journey as Sessions With Simone.

I took my first Embodied Flow class and truly enjoyed the experience. The instructor gave clear direction, the music was a vibe, and the space itself is very aesthetically pleasing. I am already looking forward to trying another class type!
